So remember my crazy amounts of indecision on how to finish the edges of my owl quilt? I bit the bullet and just went ahead and did it! I even added some little feature flowers (Riley Blake fabric - love love) to the stripes.
So next wip - Diamonds in Squares. No more done on that since I last posted with more indecision on how to edge this one. Thinking it'll be white border, colour border, white border, binding. Now to get that plan out of my head and into fabric.
Curious about the three planned quilts?
First quilt in planning: is no more than a pinterest board currently, but gosh do I need to get a move on. It's for my sister's 30th birthday. Which is in May. You know, the month that comes after the next one. Oh did I mention she wants it king sized? Yep, better get a move on. Well I will once I can discuss it with her. Which will be when she gets back from schmoozing with the NZ high commissioner, CEO of NZ Aviation and other big wigs in India on a conference. My sister has the most amazing life. I feel very boring. But! I love you NelleNelle!(Else I would not be considering making a king size quilt!!!)
Second quilt in planning: This one I have the fabric and I'm ready to cut it today. A gazillion browns with an as yet undecided background colour. Guess I should get on that. The pattern is the "I'm a weiner" baby quilt from Boo Davis' book - yep same place as the owl quilt further up in this post. This one is for my cousin and his partner who have two little daschund doggies that they adore. And I mean adore. The dogs have their own facebook pages. That are regularly updated.
And finally the third quilt in planning: this one - I'm making for my Mum and step dad. I really love this fabric but had no excuse to buy it. So I talked my Mum into loving the fabric as much as I do and it'll be a quilt for her. Sneaky sneaky. Fabric is on its way.
I have purchased this Sweet Lush bundle from the Sew Fabulous Quilt Shop on Etsy.
And here's a picture of the French Kisses quilt design I'm planning to use (posted with permission from Traceyjay quilts). The pattern is due to be released very soon - ooh I can't wait! I think this is going to be stunning in Lush!
Well that's all folks! Think that's enough to keep me busy for awhile?
