Tea anyone?
So I have a list of Christmas sewing as long as my arm. And yet, instead of working on that, I decided to work on my Wombat Stew block for Lara (from Luellabella). You know, for January. Of next year. But hey, now I’m ahead of the game!
Lara requested teapots. And once she gave us a few specifics, I got busy drawing some up in EQ7. I had to shut the computer off because I couldn’t stop drawing teapots!
So here’s one that I have pieced!
Lara asked for the teapots to be placed on the blocks to look like they are sitting on a shelf, have something that’s particular just to us, and include a bit of selvedge.
Particular to me… I love birds. And Aviary 2 is my favourite ever bird print.
I’m not kidding about it my being my favourite bird print. It graces the doona cover on my bed (which is double sided because I couldn’t decide on one layout!)
And it’s also what my nappy (diaper)/carry everything bag is made out of.
There are a few other Aviary 2 projects but now I’m getting off on a tangent (told you I love Aviary 2). Back to the teapot!
So I added a bit of selvedge to the bottom of the block. It’s the selvedge from the orange Color Weave that I used in the block.
I am really loving Color Weave! I bought it in 12 different shades and I have already used 4 different ones in various projects just since they arrived.
Little note: I hate orange. Like really. I avoid it. I have had to force myself to buy orange prints to make my stash a little less lop sided. But Lara LOVES orange. So what’s a girl to do?! I want Lara to have a teapot she loves, so orange it is. Plus look how pretty it goes with the Aviary 2. Mmm Aviary 2.
So it’s done! And early! I may even make another teapot block. Because I can’t stop thinking about this design…
And on the topic of new designs… the Polaroid camera is now listed in my Craftsy shop. Thanks to my lovely pattern testers Gina and Heidi!
Well guess I better get back to that Christmas sewing if I want there to be any gifts under the tree!! Wish me luck!
