Hello friends!I must offer apologies on a couple of counts. Firstly - for not posting for the paper piecing party last week, and secondly for not having anything paper pieced to share for today. The reason is similar. The sewjo is greatly lacking and I have barely touched the sewing machine lately.
There has also been a bit of family stuff going on. My grandmother passed away recently and it has been a busy time with family matters. I posted a little about my Nan previously when I was making gifts for her 90th birthday last year. I was really touched that the family requested that her signature quilt be laid over the casket at her funeral as she had loved it so much.
The family tree canvas was also used as decoration at the funeral as per one of my uncle's requests. I think it's very special and quite an honour that these little things I made for Nan were used as a part of the celebration of her life.
And so friends, I trust you'll forgive my lack of sewing and paper piecing of late. But I do hope that you still have been working on things so I can live sewcariously through you. So, let's see what you have been up to of late!
Quick refresher on what the deal is with the Paper Piecing Party (full details here):
* It’s on every weekend here at Quiet Play, starting Friday.
* Link up something you’re working on that’s foundation paper pieced
* Link a blog post or flickr photo
* Visit at least two other links and leave a comment because that’s half the fun!
Oh Kristy, sad and wonderful at the same time. So sad that your Nan passed away but wonderful that you had taken the time to make those special keepsakes for her before she passed away. Lovely too that the family appreciated them enough to include them in her farewell. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
