Let’s have a giveaway! Sure we don’t need a reason for a giveaway, but I think cracking 1000 followers on Bloglovin’ is a pretty awesome reason for a giveaway. I am humbled and delighted that so many people are interested in this little blog of mine. Thank you :) It does not feel that long ago that I was doing my first ever giveaway for 50 followers!
So to celebrate, it seems fitting to offer up winner’s choice of patterns from my Craftsy shop. I’ll pick three winners who can each choose three patterns/bundles of their choice. All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment and tell me what you’d like to see more of on my blog – be it content, pattern styles, bloggy events. Or if you can’t think of something like that (I know I never can), let me know what you like about Quiet Play so I can keep on doing that. Plus a bit of ego stroking never hurt anyone. Giveaway will close Wednesday 5th March Aussie time.

Alas I am still not up to much sewing so I don’t have anything for show and tell. I’m having a big flare up of fatigue and joint pains and it makes it very difficult to sew. Sad when sewing literally hurts. I’m not telling you this for a wave of pity or sympathy. I’m alright! I just wanted to explain why there’s not much happening here – and I don’t really know when I’ll be back on top of it all again. I am hoping soon. But enough of that blahblah, back to the fun.
Seeing as I don’t have much fun paper piecing pretty to look at, let me see what you’ve been making! Link up your paper pieced projects for this week, then make sure you leave me a comment to enter the giveaway! Happy paper piecing my friends!
Quick refresher on what the deal is with the Paper Piecing Party (full details here):
* It’s on every weekend here at Quiet Play, starting Friday.
* Link up something you’re working on that’s foundation paper pieced
* Link a blog post or flickr photo
* Visit at least two other links and leave a comment because that’s half the fun!

I hope to see soon again your sewings! Your patterns are always beautiful, fun and well made! Trying to think more ideas I thought that it would be very nice to make different kind of leaves and flowers - something from nature except animals. ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1000 followers!! That is exciting! I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well enough to sew these days... I can relate. I have both Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Love your patterns by the way especially the Lego ones... need to get some of those to make a quilt now that the Lego movie is out! LOL

I wish you felt better but we all have down times. I struggle with depression, so I feel more like an ocean wave. Sometimes I'm rolling, and sometimes I'm not. Anyway, love your patterns and your skill. I would like to do more intricate flowers which I think you can do a lovely job.
ReplyDeleteGood job on 1000 followrs!! I love all the animal PP patterns. :) Hope you are well soon.
ReplyDeletecraftyccain@gmail.com
I empathise with you. I have fibromyalgia and sometimes can't use my hands for weeks. Soooo frustating. I came to the site and fell in love with your BOM. It is the first paperpiecing that I've tried. So I am quietly getting addicted. i love the accuracy. Now it is to little time and too many aptterns. lol. Thanks for your dedication to the blog.
ReplyDeletecongrats!!!! I'm just learning paper piecing, but love looking at what you create, it inspires me to do more
ReplyDeleteI have chronic fatigue syndrome, which they say is related to fibromyalgia. I don't have it as badly as some, so I consider myself lucky. My mother-in-law has fibro, and a cousin, and it's no laughing matter about the pain and the frustration. I really appreciate your designs. They're well thought out, delightful, and cute. I'm not about 'cute', but it sure doesn't hurt, and cute with craft is something that's not easy to do. Thanks for the wonderful patterns and the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI am a newer follower - but love your work. I think I have been following you on Craftsy longer than here. I am following Sew Kitchy - just haven't had time to make anything. Your other retro patterns are great too. Thank you for you angles tutorial - it has helped me a TON!!!. I still make mistakes, putting the fabric the wrong way on the crease, but once it is ripped out and done again - it always covers. Thanks for all you do. Hope you feel better soon. And a Super Congrats on 1000 followers.
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing all of the fab new patterns you come up with! :o)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Just keep doing what you are doing. Oh yea, I sent a few members of my guild your way.
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is great! Just keep coming up with those great new patterns!

I love the block of the months! I would love to have maybe word blocks, like phrases and such.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lots of comments for you! I understand your pain==literally. I've had fatigue and joint pain for 40 years, and I'm only 54. Had both hips replaced last year, finally found out what type of Arthritis I have, and it can be treated! So hopefully, no more joint degeneration. Hoping you feel better soon.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 1000! That is amazing! I love your blog. I like the way that you sometimes tell us about your family, you show us your beautiful creations and share yourself with us. Don't change a thing. As for the pain, when my arthritis gets really bad, I like a warm bath and a HUGE glass of wine :) Doesn't help for long but it helps for a little while

I can certainly sympathize with your joint and muscle pain as I have been dealing with a major flare of that since December. I will keep you in my prayers. Just do what you can, when you can. We will still be here following you.
ReplyDeleteWow! 1000 followers! That is way cool! No wonder, as you have the best pp patterns!
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to draft my own paper pieced patterns! A tutorial on that would be great!
Congrats! I think you're doing pretty well so far. Maybe more process or in sewing action shots/talk?

ReplyDeleteI enjoy your paper piecing party that you started. I'm sure it will get bigger, but I. Enjoy having at least one smaller link party that isn't so huge that the thought of visiting other people is overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through the Kitschy BOM you're doing right now. You're patterns are very easy to follow and so far have turned out great. I like that you have the option to buy all the patterns or wait for the free one each month. You're patterns have a really "fresh and new" look to them that I really like. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am fairly new at paper piecing and your stuff is like yummy candy to me. Appreciate your free patterns a lot!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on signing up your 1000the follower! I really like reading about the design process from bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI am following your Sew Kitschy paper piecing. This is my first paper piecing project. I love the whole quilt. It reminds me of my grandmother who died when I was 17. I am going to make two and send one to my mother. Thank-you for putting up all the lovely patterns! now I just need to get my pictures up for all to see.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see exotic flowers like orchids or hibiscus! melcrafts (at) hotmail (dot) com
