16 paper pieced LEGO characters. Done. Done. Done. Well except for their faces. Obviously.
Plus 8 LEGO light sabers. Original plan was for 16 of them but my sanity said no. So 8 LEGO light sabers it is.
So the latest additions are Chewbacca (or Chewbugga as my 3yo calls him):
and Luke Skywalker, complete with daggy 80’s haircut:
So next up – removing paper from all of these blocks. Yeah that doesn’t sound like fun to me either. Then it’ll be time for the really scary part – adding the faces. Yeah wish me luck on that!
You can find almost all of these paper pieced LEGO Star Wars patterns as freebies in my Craftsy shop (will add the last few soon). You know, in case you want to go paper piecing crazy and make your own Star Wars quilt :)

ReplyDeleteI love this! So fun and beautiful.
ReplyDeletepaper i'd happily help you with, faces? are you sure they need them?
ReplyDeleteso awesome!! I completely empathize with you on the paper removal! I dread that process too. I wish there was a paper that you could use and leave on that would melt away in the wash. Maybe you could invent some!! I love how the light sabers face each other, which is my segue to wish you luck in drawing the faces! I am sure you will make them look like their real counterperson :)
ReplyDeleteChewbugga is brilliant Kristy, good luck with the paper removal :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing Kristy! They all look wonderful together! After all that piecing, ripping the paper and embroidery will be a breeze! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun. Someone is going to love that quilt silly for the rest of their lives.
ReplyDeleteI think when my daughter was young she used to say Kookabugga instead ofKookaburra.
Absolutly amazing. You should be so proud and not scared about the faces, you will rock it. hugs
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I'm still in awe of your design skills. And embroidering faces is a scary thought, but it's not so bad once you get going Ali x (bizinozi01@gmail.com) www.arabesque-scissors.com
