This blogging shenanigans!

Hello long neglected blog - and to those readers who might still pop in now and then (thank you!). I must admit since becoming quite busy with homeschooling, Make Modern and sharing my quilty nonsense on Instagram, my time and interest in my blog has waned. Sadly. But I am hoping to make a little more effort this year.

For those that have been with me for some time, you'll have noticed that I chose not to have a paper pieced BoM this year, like previous years. I did um and ah over it for a little while, but I found my memory faulty at remembering to post current monthly blocks, and my interest was in coming up with more new patterns rather than keeping the same ones for a long time. Apologies to those who were looking for a new paper pieced BoM but I can assure you I have lots of new patterns on their way (including lowercase geo alphabet plus numbers and punctuation)!

I have however reopened my Craftsy store. I currently have the two shops running - Payhip which is great for EU customers as it takes care of the VAT for me and now Craftsy for those not in the EU. I know people like the features on Craftsy in being able to save patterns to your library etc, so I'm hoping you'll find this helpful.

I can't make any promises but I shall at least endeavour to make the effort to post a little more in the future. I discussed with Jane (Editor of Make Modern and one of my quilty besties) the whole IG vs blogging thing. We both love Instagram but there is something to be said for blogging, and having a little more detail shared about a project. Not to mention being able to peruse it at your leisure, rather than possibly missing a pic of something amazing on IG because you were doing something crazy like oh I don't know, sleeping. So no guarantees, but I'll at least try ;)

  2. Pleased to see you blog again, there are a few of us who do not do Facebook, Instagram or other mediums. Craftsy is great. Homeschooling must be so rewarding and fun.

  3. Hi Kristy! I won't go any where even you posts don't come so often but I hope they come often! I love your new patterns! Haven't done pp for a while and I would really like to make something new. x Teje

  4. Love seeing your posts as and when you want to! I agree on the blogging thing, I like the longer conversation as you get to see the thought processes behind a design rather than just a photo.

  6. Nice to see you again! Last year was a bit hit and miss for me reading blogs as we moved house but hopefully I can keep up with them again this year. Love the sewing machine pattern up there. Might have to go look for that one in Craftsy!

  8. I am so glad to see you back! I do like Instagram, but I know I miss a lot there. Even if you only post once in a while here with highlights, I won't feel like I have missed something important. =)

  9. Lovely to see you active here again, I just don't feel the love for IG! The mermaid is gorgeous, and the sewing machine is on my to-do list

  10. SO happy to see you back again. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be able to stay active on the blog. I'm one that just doesn't do Instagram and other media. I do FB, but try not to follow all the blogs there too. I'm already spending far too much time online and adding all the other ways to follow a blogger means spending even more time. I honestly don't like Instagram. I do have an account but do not use it after trying for awhile and just never liking the format of it.

I'm just happy to see you here again.

  14. I do prefer reading blogs. I forget about IG, even though it's on my home screen on my phone. I can see the images on blogs better, even with my phone. If I want to see details on an IG image, I have to take a screen shot and then look at it. I even prefer getting blog updates in my email over using an app or blog reader. So that is what I've been doing. Glad you're back, Kristy :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I read each and every word! I'll do my best to reply to them either via email or here on the blog, when time permits!
