So there has been some sewing happening around here – but a lot of it has been secret sewing! But as this quilt has now arrived at the recipient’s house, I can share!
So back story. I’m a part of the lovely Care Circle of do.Good Stitches. It just so happened two of our lovely members were expecting new additions at the same time! Naturally that meant secret squirrel sewing had to commence! For Jodi (of Tickle and Hide) we weren’t sure if she was having a boy or a girl, so a gender neutral quilt was needed. The beautiful Care Circle girls all quickly jumped on board, more than happy to help out with sewing blocks. They sent them my way, and I had the fun part to put them together into a quilt!
Without further ado, let’s look at some pictures!
We used this pattern (which is perfect for charm squares by the way) and obviously had a lot of fun with the rainbow blocks. I must say a massive thank you to the Care Circle girls for contributing to this quilt – and for not hassling me when I was a bit slower getting it put together with the unwellness of late. Didn’t they do such a beautiful job?!
I backed it with a bright cheery yellow print, matched with a yellow stripey binding. It makes me think of sunshine.
I’m pretty sure we can all agree that a new baby needs a new quilt – so it was a lot of fun to be able to work with some of my fave quilters to put this together for Jodi’s new little one!
And yes – for the observant readers. I did mention two members which obviously means two babies and therefore two quilts… But with so little sewing of late, I figured I might as well split the posts up and I will share the second quilt next week. Suspense huh?!
Thank you gorgeous Care Circle gals – and to Jodi, a big congratulations to you and your family! Hope that you are settling in well with your darling little girl!
