Paper Piecing Party– Stationery

Oh dear. I have been a bit of a slack Bee member lately. I have just finished March’s block – now that it’s April. I’d better get busy and get onto April’s blocks so I feel less guilty. We all have those months right?! (and if you don’t, pretend that you do and nod sagely so I feel less alone in my quilt guilt).

So!! Jane has gorgeous kids – including two daughters who love all things Smiggle. For the non-Aussies, that’s a fabulous stationery shop – where everything is grouped by colour. Jane thought it’d be fun to try to recreate it. All the Wombats have made the same block, but in different colourways. So if you feel like you’ve seen this block before, you probably have. The other Wombats are far more organised than I am!

Smiggle Stationery Block

The other blocks have all been doing in one colour – but as there are only 6 colours in Smiggle-land, and 9 Wombats, some of us did rainbow ones. Clearly I went with rainbow ;)

Pens

Some fun prints to decorate the pens – bit of SunPrint and Good Morning Honeycomb totally fit the bill.

Scissors

And some more SunPrint, and Raindrops for this side of the block. I will happily admit that those scissors are not for the faint hearted. But they are worth the effort!

Now I had planned to list this pattern in my shop today, but I am having dreadful technology problems. It is all conspiring against me – from a laptop that won’t turn on (therefore I can’t access my pattern files!) to a printer that won’t print. Honestly. So um, yes, one day this will be in my Craftsy shop. I’ll keep you posted.

And with that mammoth effort at paper piecing this week, now it’s your turn to share what you’ve been up to!

  9. Fun rainbow Smiggle!!! The scissors are my favorite part of the block :) the pen with the clicker took me the longest to make for some reason.
