I’ve blabbed on about them enough of late, but here’s a pictorial refresher.
Sew Retro 2!
I’m not even sure which one’s my favourite.
I love the kettle and matching coffee cups.
And the kitchen scales…
Oh and what kitchen is complete without at least one chair?!
Strange fact. When I was setting up my flat when I went to uni, I really wanted one of these old 50’s style fridges to go with my old 50’s style dining table and chairs in my old 50’s style apartment (none of the that was planned, everything was just old ). But the salesman talked me out of it as he said they were too expensive to maintain. Sad. Instead I got a crappy old fridge and painted Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” on it to cover up the rust. Good times. I miss that fridge.
Enough reiminsicing. Back to the patterns. I have now listed them all in my Craftsy shop, and in doing so have passed the 50 pattern mark! Woohoo! Much celebration must ensue. Or at least a giveaway.
So want a chance to win a paper pieced pattern or bundle if you’re so inclined? Just leave me a comment on this post and I’ll pick two winners for their choice of pattern/bundle on Monday 25th Aussie time.
Can’t think what to say in a comment? Tell me what you’d paint on your fridge if you were in a fridge painting kind of mood.
Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the UK and I'm sure you've heard the furore over horsemeat here so I'd paint a large horse with a cross over it!
Thanks for the giveaway! I would paint pictures of my children on the fridge.
ReplyDeleteThe Scream - too funny Kristy. It might be fun to paint the Tardis on a really boxy fridge.
ReplyDeleteI would paint a big 'STOP' sign on mine ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on passing 50 patterns, you are a one-woman pattern machine!
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I would paint a big sun on my fridge as it is a while since we have seen it :)
Wow 50 patterns, that's huge! Hmmm, given my love of quilting it would have to be a patchwork quilt on my fridge (either that or 'Crime Scene- Do not Cross' tape!)
ReplyDeleteI love them all.........I would definitely paint something very retro.........my daughter would love your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! The pattern looks good with these colors. No idea about the paint on fridge though.
ReplyDeleteIf I could draw and paint I would do a mountain scene with a nice and tranquilt lake. Thanks for the chance to win one of your patterns.

50 plus patterns, awesomeness! So happy for you. I love your patterns and I really enjoy your BOM I am following. If I needed to paint the refrigerator, I think it would be a large Texas Star! Thank you for all that you create! :)Angela tx.angela.gibson@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThese are great! Especially fond of the tea kettle and matching cups. And that scale - we've got one just like it in green ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd paint my fridge with chalkboard paint so there could always be new art on the fridge. If only it wouldn't chip away!!
Don't know what I'd paint, but sure would love those patterns!
ReplyDeleteEvin5 at aol dot com
I would love to paint the front of my fridge to look like a wooden Tiki mask!
ReplyDeleteDamn, I'd love to see a pic of that fridge now! I prefer to put postcards and the like on my fridge. Can't wait to one day plaster it with kids' artwork. My nephew better learn to paint right away once he hatches. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on passing 50 patterns! I'd love to paint my fridge in chalkboard paint for my boys to draw all over... or aqua to match the rest of the vintage odds and ends in my kitchen. OR... aqua chalkboard paint! Ok, now i might just be getting carried away... thanks for this chance to win an awesome pattern!
ReplyDeleteCongrats. I think I would have to paint some kind of healthy slogan
ReplyDeleteYay, giveaway! Would it be weird to make a mini quilt and a pillow for my breakfast nook in the kitchen? That's what I have in mind for all of your Sew Retro patterns (when I get a spare minute!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveway!! Hmm what would I paint my fridge? I think I would go with an ocean scene in the background with some lilies in the foreground. THat way while I cook dinner each night I can look at it and have my own little retreat. :) no "is it ready yet?" "I'm STARVING?" "I don't want that!" lol...
ReplyDeleteI love the new set of patterns. I would paint a collage of fruits and vegetables - inspiration to eat them instead of other foods once I open the fridge.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a great giveaway. Hmm frige painting. I never thought about that. But my fridge is only a year old and stainless steel. So I don't think I will paint it any time soon. But if I did I would love some sort of mural painted on it. Maybe a scene of the night sky wwith the stars shining and the moon beign a full moon.
ReplyDeleteOooo...what color would I paint my fridge if I could? Well, maybe red, like those high performance looking washers I ogle at the home improvement stores. Or maybe pink, because it's my favorite color of all time! Or, since my cabinets are dark green, maybe a forest scene....with a squirrel at the base of a tree! pbstrand@msn.com
ReplyDeleteI love your retro kitchen patterns! If I painted my fridge, I would use invisible paint so I wouldn't have to cook!
ReplyDeleteOn the outside of the refrigerator door, you can print out the words "Come on inside". I just love your paper-pieced blocks but I would enjoy the bundle much more. Thank you for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI think your patterns are fabulous! I just joined recently joined in on your BOM and willingly went to Craftsy and purchased the Jan and Feb patterns so I could catch up. Congratulations at achieving the 50 mark! If I were to paint my fridge, I would probably paint flowers all over it.

Another awesome pattern pack and what a generous give away!! I am not sure what I would paint on my fridge but the idea of a stop sign made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd paint a Citroen 2CV on the fridge! Why not? It's already covered in 2CV fridge magnets!
ReplyDeleteI would paint a mural starting at the bottom of the ocean floor and not stopping until I reached the stars! It would be extremely colorful! :)
ReplyDeleteOOH those are all just awesome.
ReplyDeleteSince we're 'pretending', let's pretend I am also an artist. HA I would paint the inside of the fridge on the outside, complete with shelving and food containers or anything else that might be inside a fridge. That would be so fun.
Me and VickiT think alike!I would make the outside look like the inside and add kitties getting into everything!
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time when I was very young, and had just gotten married we had an extremely old fridge. Hubby and I drug it around for eons, and when we finally could afford a decent fridge that one was relegated to the beer fridge.
ReplyDeleteI would paint my fridge in chalkboard paint so we could write grocery lists, instead of looking for the list paper.
I love that fridge. It reminds me of the one we had in our cabin growing up that was inherited from my grandma. We only just replaced it about 20 years ago as yes, they do cost a lot of money to run. And the icebox never kept ice cream frozen so we never had it in the cabin all summer. Don't know what I would paint on my fridge, but the scream would be great as it would be an excellent reminder not to browse through the contents...
ReplyDeleteI love your patterns! Hmm, painting the fridge, that's a good idea. I only have kids paint around here and I don't think that would work very well but I have really been enjoying the Van Gogh starry night quilts I have been seeing lately so maybe I would paint my version of that.
ReplyDeleteI might paint an apple ... or a bowl of apples... to go with the rest of my kitchen decor. I love apples.
ReplyDeleteI would paint my fridge hot pink
ReplyDeleteI would paint a Peace Sign on my refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on over 50 patterns!
I think it would be fun to paint like a different appliance...a giant coffee maker?
ReplyDeleteAmandaK@whatthebobbin
I love your patterns!
ReplyDeleteUmmm, I would paint pink flowers on my fridge. =)
I love your Sew Retro kitchen patterns! I bought one of those 1930s refrigerators with the motor on top for $2.00 at an auction. No one
ReplyDeletewanted to fool with it! It worked just fine! We brought it home &
kept it on our back patio to keep sodas cold. I would love to have an
"old 50s style" refrigerator. I would paint it red to match all of my
kitchen utensils. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love these patterns. I had that turquoise refrigerator in a rental many years ago. I am remodeling my kitchen and really want to give it a vintage appeal. Tangerine and turquoise. Can't wait to get it done.
ReplyDeleteNo paint but I have covered one with flower stickers.
Oh my word, Kristy, I love that you painted your fridge! And yes, I would be very happy to take that bundle of patterns off your hands... :)
ReplyDeleteI would probably have to paint my fridge with black cow spots... to match the kettle and toaster ;)
ReplyDeleteYour patterns are really making me want to try my hand at paper piecing once and for all! As far as fridge painting, I'd go with red, to match my "hot" red washer and dryer, haha.
ReplyDeleteMore yummy designs! Well done! I'm too much of a wimp to paint it, but we has stickers once that turned it into a cow, they were fun!
ReplyDeleteHah! Well uh...Ok, all I can paint is pears...dont know what to say about that, but if I could paint anything it might be some yellow and orange roses to go with my light blue tiles I put in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI love the old fridges with the motor on top. I never thought about painting a fridge, I would probably let my daughter do hand prints all over.
ReplyDeleteLove your new patterns! I think the fridge might be my fav!
ReplyDeleteReally love your paper piecing patterns and how well they go together. I'd paint a large branch with a bird nest and birds with their babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway and congratulations on 50 patterns ~ you are a machine!!!
Don't retro fridges have a lovely design? My grandparents had one that was horizontal and wall installed (like this one: http://farm1.staticflickr.com/90/234540584_b7ed8c51dc.jpg) They built it into the house in the mid-50s, and it lasted until they renovated their kitchen in 2006 or 2007! I've never seen another fridge like that in use.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the fridge and chair patterns! When I was at uni I wanted a retro fridge too (didn't happen) and a VW Beetle (that didn't happen either!). Hmmm...what would I paint on an ugly fridge...probably a Rebecca Cool inspired girl.
ReplyDeleteYour patterns are adorable. I'd paint it with that chalk paint so I could write my grocery list on it.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your And Sew On patterns and planning to go buy the letter patterns, too! Right about now I would paint daffodils on my fridge, to get a bit of Spring here in Colorado. We've just had 7 more inches of snow today. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteYour pattern set is too fabulous! If my husband wouldn't care, I think I'd paint my refrigerator either buttery yellow...or fire engine red! lol Not going to happen, but it's fun to think about it!
