Circle of Flowers – WiP

 I recently came across the new Thimble Blossoms patterns. Love. Love love love. Though it was a tough choice between Fireworks and Round & Round.

But Round & Round won.

Doesn’t it look divine in rainbow Color Weave?! 


 There are a lot of HSTs in this block, and a lot of rows to sew together. So the quilt row markers Jane made me came in very handy. I used them to remind me which way to press the seams, so that I could nest them together when it was time to sew.

My seams still aren’t all quite perfect, but not too shabby! Loving this block. It’s big – think mine came to 23” unfinished. But bonus of that is you don’t need too many to make a quilt!

First Round and Round block

I’m not sure on the name Round and Round, so I’m going with Circle of Flowers as that’s what it reminds me of.

So now to make a bunch more HSTs. Eventually. There may not be too much sewing happening here over the next few weeks as I’m moving house. So most of my WiP unfortunately will be packing boxes. Nowhere near as pretty, but most necessary.

    eek! I too couldn't decide on which of Camille's patterns i wanted to get. It was between this one and the hexi one which I can't remember the name. This looks awesome!! I love it with the sketch or color weave fabric. Gorgeous Kristy!!

    This is awesome! I hadn't seen this pattern before. I love the star/flowers. The friendship star is one of my favorite quilt blocks! Nice work! :)

    This block is so pretty! I love the texture in Color Weave. Those row markers are pretty genius too! I always have issues remembering which way to press seams :D. Good luck with your move. Packing is no fun!

    This is really cool! I've seen small pics of the pattern and thought it would be far more complicated than this. It's really just a double nine-patch with HSTs, huh? Ingenious. :)
