Joyous June

Okay “joyous” was the best adjective I could find that started with J. My alliteration skills were failing me. I had to use my googlefu.

But it was a pretty joyous month! I feel like I got a lot accomplished. I finished three quilts! Okay none of them are bigger than lap size quilts but still, that’s three quilts! Woo!  And of course nothing happened unless there are pictures so here’s a little mosaic. (Oh I used Pic Monkey to make this – I like it better than Mosaic Maker!)

And of course, some blog links if you’re interested to read about some of the projects.

1 & 2. Find the Red Herring quilt here, and pattern and tutorial here. I’m a bit excited to see that people have started making some of their own! They look so great!
 3. Diamonds in Squares Bee Quilt
4 & 5. Peacocks in the Garden quilt top. Here and here.
 6. Craftsy June block
7 & 8 Collaboration quilt with Fiona of Finding Fifth.
9. Chameleon bag
10. June Bee block for Elaine
11. June Bee block for Kate
12. July Bee block for Lara
13. Matching bag for the Diamonds in Squares quilt
14. Craftsy June block
15. QCA Handmade swap gift for McKenna (yet to blog about that one!)
16. Sewing machine cover

Whew! That’s quite a run down for the month. And it' doesn’t stop there. Well the projects do, but I scored something big big BIG. My awesome parents bought me a surprise gift. It’s possible I may have been rambling to them about quilting because frankly, my children don’t listen (well they are only 4 and 2). Well, it turns out my parents were listening! And paid great attention and ordered this as a surprise for me!!

Oh my goodness I think I nearly hyperventilated with excitement. This has been on my wish list for such a long time but waaayyy out of my budget. I honestly just chalked it up as one of those love-to-have-probably-never-will items. But it turns out I have the best parents in the world.  Seriously. Totally worth all that love and time and effort I put into their giant Queen size quilt I made earlier this year. ;) So that’s my big share for Sunday Stash – which is over at Finding Fifth. I’m feeling very spoilt!

And to add to the stash - gorgeous Fiona sent me a charm pack of Summersville. I'm currently planning a little design for it using my new program. Catching up with Fiona next weekend - I believe paper piecing lessons are in order. :)

Well on that happy note, I think I shall go and figure out what fun project I’m going to take to quilt group this afternoon. Decisions decisions!

  4. Sounds like June was a brilliantly successful month, particularly with getting Red Herring and Peacocks in the Garden done! I'm bookmarking your tutorial to have a go at paper piecing myself when I have a bit more time.
