So first, here’s what I’ve been making – Bee blocks!
First is a Simple Knot for Danielle from QCA Bee #3. Danielle sent us the black and red fabric and pretty much gave us free reign on block choice, so long as it met size requirements, featured red, black and white with a white border.
I found this pattern in the EQ7 block library and printed it out to paper piece (I couldn’t make sense of the rotary cut directions!). It pieced together beautifully, until the point I had to join the sections together. I didn’t think that part through – ended up with a y seam! Not my favourite quilty thing ever – but happy to say I managed it without swearing once! Impressive, no?
The other block – this one in black and white is Shirley’s Four Patch Fancy for QCA Bee #1. You can find the instructions on how to make this block here.
A rather fun little block to make – looks more complicated to make than it actually is. Don’t you love those kinds of blocks?!
But with two blocks for November requiring black and white fabrics, I realised just how few I actually have in my stash! So any filler FQs (you know, to make the most of the postage from the US) need to be black and white in future!
So now for the stashing! This week it’s charm packs! But only one of them is for me!
I’m keeping Noteworthy. When I saw the sneak peeks for Noteworthy, I just couldn’t resist! Seriously – such a cute line! No idea what I’ll make with it. I think I might just admire and pet it for a bit until inspiration strikes.
And with the silly season nearly upon us, who could resist a bit of Cherry Christmas?! Interested? Want this sweet little charm pack for yourself? Well! It’s going to be a giveaway prize for the linky party for Sew Seasonal! Along with a gazillion other fabulous things (check here for details).
All you have to do is make something from the Sew Seasonal patterns. You can find the patterns in our Craftsy stores. They are free for the duration of the blog hop. Pretty awesome, right? Paper pieced patterns are here and Ornamental patterns are here. Go on, grab em both, you know you want to! Make something festive and link it up at the end of the month! How easy is that!
Lacking inspiration? Follow along with our blog hop – lots of great ideas popping up already! Plus there are a couple of giveaways underway already! Don’t miss out!
Linking up with Sunday Stash over at Finding Fifth
Did you buy your charm packs locally? I have not checked out noteworthy yet...who makes that one?
ReplyDeleteSweetwater!!! :D
DeleteLove your bee blocks. Cherry Christmas and Noteworthy. Two favourites. Gotta get some Noteworthy. I'm the same as you, no plans, just need it :)
ReplyDeleteHaha ... right on about Noteworthy! Looks adorable! Maybe we should all get a Noteworthy charm pack and then do some kind of linky thing, where we make whatever we want, just has to be from that only!?
ReplyDeleteCute bee blocks!
ReplyDeleteY seam with no swearing is definitely impressive! Is Noteworthy available yet? That is going to be a popular line methinks!!
ReplyDeleteNice blocks! I had not seen Noteworthy yet but I always love fabric by Sweetwater. I think I may need some at some point, too.
ReplyDeleteY-seams that was brave! Love the four-patch block, it looks great in the black and white.
